I find Move’s fidelity - especially at closer range - superior to that of the Sonance satellite speakers, plus you’ll have the benefit of using them in other areas of the house. The Sonance Patio Series System may be extended by adding an additional Patio Series 4.1 System, for a total of eight (8) satellite speakers and two (2) in-ground subwoofers great coverage for outdoor spaces up to 2,000 square feet (186 sq. If you want to try something smaller first and think you’re going to use the patio or deck only occasionally, a more flexible and economical - albeit less immersive and subtle - solution could be to use a Sonos Move (or two) in those. If the patio is close to the pool, 2 outdoor speakers (DefTechs look good although I have no experience with them myself) hung from above should do the trick nicely.įor the deck, the 6.1 or maybe even a Patio 4.1 should work well. That said, at least in my configuration the sound doesn’t extend much beyond the pool, so supplementing the system in the adjacent areas is a good idea. Sounds like your pool is similar in size to mine - where I’ve been very happy with the 6.1. For 3 areas with immersive sound you can granularly control, your configuration will work very nicely. You can’t go wrong with what you described.

Sorry to have so much in my reply but these systems are so hard to find reviews on and having someone with hands on experience is definitely the best review.

We aren't trying to blow the walls away but would hope this could give some solid bass and clear audio around the pool and deck when playing some classic r&b or funk but still be solid when playing down low for background music. The thought would be 3 Zones that could all be played together or independent (especially under the patio cover) Under 25'x15' Insulated Aluminum Patio coverĪll 3 of these spaces are in direct proximity of each other (7600 Sq ft lot) Surrounding a 26'x13' deck w/ seating and fire pit right next to the 12' outdoor kitchen in a side yard I have the Sonance Mag 4.1 patio series speaker system and can see that they are sold with either the Sonos Amp or the Sonance SR2-125. I am considering getting the following as we are completely redoing our backyard and wanted to get your thoughts: So the MAG6.1 isn't body shaking bass but it comes in VERY strong and that is coming from someone that is use to a strong bass presence in my music and movies. My indoor setup is 5.1 with 6.5" Polk inwall 3 ways and a 15" 2000 watt hsu research subwoofer. Generally the audio is VERY good and bass is much louder than I expected. My patio cover won't be installed for another few weeks (where the def techs will be installed on the outer posts facing toward the house). Swapped the wires and bass was easily 5x and much fuller. I've only installed the MAG6.1s around the perimeter of my yard with the subs in the two corners of my yard (my walls are 8-15 feet brick and vinyl fence extension.Īll can say is WOW! Anything over 60 is LOUD and well rounded for Jazz or Dubstep! After the install, def swapped the wires on the right channel and there was very little bass. I'll make my own post with video but I ended getting 2x MAG6.1 and a set of Def Tech aw6500 + Sonos amp. Let me know how you get on and if you come up with any questions - or tips! Wanted to post a video of how things are set up, but I guess Reddit doesn’t let you do that on a mobile device, so I’ll give it a shot when I’m near a desktop. The best part is that the volume is evenly distributed and rather contained to my yard, with little sound leakage to the neighbours. The system sounds pretty good: the satellites are decently clear (especially for being one-way) and I get enough bass to make for an evenly balanced sonic profile. Might be even better in a 3+3 configuration, but this placement works better with the way things are laid out in my yard. I have 4 satellites plus sub on one side with 2 satellites on the other. After much troubleshooting, I fixed it by reversing the polarisation on one of the Amp output channels. I ran into one issue that set me back a few hours: the sub wasn't putting out any bass when balance was in the center. It wasn't easy (at least for a first-time yard owner like me), as it took a while to figure out the right positioning, cut wires to length, and bury the sub and all cabling (that was biggest pain in the arse part of it all).
